Meet the founder of Desert Coast Psychiatry & Wellness

Diego Centeno

MSN, PMHNP-BC

Hi, I'm Diego Centeno, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner serving patients throughout California, with an emphasis in Orange and San Diego counties. I am bilingual in Spanish.

I provide mental health care for children, teens, and adults, and my goal is to create a supportive space where people feel comfortable talking about what they're going through. I grew up in Southern California and care deeply about serving the communities in this area.

I completed graduate school as an advanced practice nurse specializing in psychiatric mental health. In my practice, I evaluate mental health concerns, prescribe medications when appropriate, and integrate supportive therapeutic conversations into treatment when helpful.

My approach to care is collaborative and centered around you. I believe mental health treatment works best when we work together to understand your experiences, identify what's contributing to your symptoms, and develop a thoughtful plan to help you move toward feeling better.

I've worked in several outpatient mental health clinics and collaborate with a psychiatrist to ensure patients receive comprehensive and high-quality care.

I commonly work with individuals experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and insomnia. My goal is to help you feel heard, respected, and supported while we work toward improving your overall well-being.
